Android is de meest gare operating system die ik ooit heb gezien. Zelfs Symbian was beter. Android oogt zo onoverzichtelijk. Honderd keer moeten scrollen om de instellingen enzo te kunnen vinden. Pfffff. Nee, doe mij maar iOS.

Nieuwste update voor OS X Yosemite die de allerallerallerallerbelangrijkste feature bevat, namelijk: de Split Screen. Het enige dat ik nog aan de Mac mistte, was de functie die Windows al jaren heeft, namelijk het feit dat je twee vensters tegelijkertijd kunt gebruiken. Dat kan natuurlijk ook op de Mac, maar niet zoals op Windows. Daar kan je namelijk met de Windows + pijltjes toetsen, bepalen op welke helft van je scherm de vensters gedraaid zullen worden.

Nu krijgt de Mac dat dus ook. Ben er zeer content mee.

De laatste OS van Windows. Dit zou eigenlijk Windows 9 moeten heten, maar om de een of andere reden hebben die oelewappers besloten om het tien te noemen.

Grootste verandering: de startmenu knop is terug.

De opvolger van Windows 8 mét een start menu knop. Eindelijk zou je zeggen, maar het is gewoon niets meer dan een icoontje naar hetgeen waar je nu ook al naar kijkt. Met andere woorden: je hebt er geen reet aan.

De allerbeste Windows versie ooit gemaakt. Tevens het enige mooie aan Microsoft

Slap aftreksel van Windows die er werkelijk waar niet uitziet. Zo vindt ook onze vriend (?) Tim Kuijsten, welke ik nu zal citeren:

For years I had the hope that every Ubuntu release would get better than the previous edition. That the vision of Canonical aligned with my vision of openness and where user rights are put central. I took the fact that some proprietary things didn’t work for granted and thought we could fight it best by adding weight to the open source movement and use open source software while demanding open codecs, standards etc.

I praised Unity, and really think this is a bold and strong move in the right direction that has to be taken in order to realize the ambitious goals Ubuntu has set for the open desktop. Harder it was to cope with software that used to work, but broke in a new release. E.g. it’s really frustrating if your webcam always worked with Skype but suddenly after an upgrade it doesn’t (and release after release, a year later, it still isn’t fixed [1]), or if you can’t do simple things like red eye removal, because the new version of the software you are using is broken.

My parents often encountered these seemingly little problems that completely put a halt on the things they wanted and were used to do. Regressions are much more irritating than bugs on new sofware. Since the news of sending search terms to Amazon by default I’m through with it. No longer do I feel Canonical puts my rights and liberties as a user central. No longer can I pull energy from the hope that the next release will be better. We don’t move in the same direction anymore.

Ubuntu, I hope someday we meet again.

Het nieuwste besturingssysteem van de softwaregigant microsoft dat eind oktober 2012 moet uitkomen. microsoft richt zich met dit besturingssysteem duidelijk op de groeiende markt van mobiele apparaten zoals telefoons en tablets, zo is de startknop die al sinds windows 95 gebruikt is helemaal weggehaald en vervangen door een fullscreen-menu vol met ’tegels’ met applicaties en informatie. er is erg veel kritiek op dit nieuwe startmenu geweest, een aantal mensen vinden het nieuwe startmenu maar helemaal niks en vinden dat het ‘voor tablets leuk is, maar voor een desktop is het not-done’.

Verder zijn de vensters gepolijst en is het veel sneller in alle opzichten dan windows 7.
